Description
The Continental Mark II when introduced for 1956 was the most expensive American automobile and was the flagship of Ford Motor Company and the American Automobile Industry.Popular in Hollywood, famous original owners of MKII Continentals included Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley.
This 1956 Continental Mark II, serial #C56B2061, is
unrestored and out of long term storage. S
hows 7432 miles that is believed original. Largely solid body has some dings, dents and scrapes. Engine turns over. Drivers rear quarter has an old unfinished patch panel, see photo. Interior has some cracks and tears, steering wheel cracked, windshield has a chip. Prior owner painted the car black many years ago, the blue and ivory are trial colors.
Frame and underbody are in excellent condition
This Continental Mark II is
fully featured with the rare optional factory air conditioning. Other rare e
quipment includes the original jack and spare tire cover and early "Irving Air Chute" front seat safety belts. It is a superb candidate for restoration into a driver or show car.
