Handsome fold-out 1965 CITGO road map of New York, printed more than 53 years ago.
This map opens to 18" x 30½" and has great detail on old highway alignments in the Empire State, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
A large inset map of Long Island shows ferries to Fire Island, Bridgeport, and New London. The Long Island Expressway is shown as "proposed" east of Ronkonkoma.
On the reverse side there's a map of northeastern New York and inset plans of Buffalo, Rochester, and the New York metropolitan area.
This map was published in 1965 by the Cities Service Oil Company to promote its CITGO brand, and it is dated in the legend. The code in the lower margin is MM-1.
Condition:
It is in very condition, bright and clean, with
no
rips or tears. A previous owner has written the name of the mapmaker on the cover; there are no other marks or writing. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
