Description
Here is a needs-nothing car with 31K miles accumulated so far and increasing regularly. It is a genuine pleasure to drive with no mechanical, functional concerns whatsoever.
Every single switch, light, accessory, power options, heat and AC (still R12), clock (keeps accurate time), cruise control, radio, intermittent wipers, etc….everything working like new.
Additional options include power windows with mini-vents, 50/50 lounge comfort seats (6-way adjustments working on both sides), power locks, Illuminated Entry, Turbine aluminum wheels, visors with lighted mirrors, premium body side moldings, Coach Roof vinyl top, and the absolutely beautiful added-cost, one-year-only Medium Turquoise Moondust Metallic paint, also called Medium Beryl in some sources, with matching leather interior.
Changes from stock original condition include the paint which is approximately 25 years old and is the correct code matching color.
A high quality job was done with trim removed and absolutely no overspray visible externally, only a tiny bit on the rubber hood bumpers along the inner fender.
It shows extremely well today with very few flaws, the only significant one being a very slight mismatch in color on the driver’s door between the pin stripe and molding.
The middle section has been repainted to repair a large scratch and they so very nearly nailed it.
Hard to see in person or in pictures, no one has ever noticed.
I’m fairly picky and if I end up keeping this car, I won’t try to improve it.
The original radio has been replaced with a vintage Motorola AM/FM-CB combination which works fine and is an interesting find.
The original radio was the top-of-the-line digital Quadrasonic AM/FM/8 track.
I have one of these radios available in excellent working condition which is rare, valuable, available if the buyer prefers to return to original.
The engine bay is nearly 100% original, clean and tidy but not restored, perfect for a regularly enjoyed car.
The undercarriage, doors, body are all protected with undercoating and other rust proofing that has not deteriorated at all and still looks great.
The exhaust system is completely original, also looks great, and is perfectly quiet.
Cosmetic flaws outside include a slightly discolored vinyl top.
A bit of a difference can be detected between the sides and the top, but not obvious at all.
It is in perfect condition, zero tears, scratches, scuffs, and completely solid at the rear lower corners, no rust hiding there either.
The only pitting in the chrome is on top of the passenger side mirror hood.
I may have a replacement for that available also?
Paint, bumpers, anodized trim, moldings, rocker covers, light bezels, all glass, lenses…all excellent.
Some pictures shown with bumpers removed since the filler panels were just repainted to match the quality of the rest of the car.
The interior is amazing.
The driver’s seat is in near the same condition as the passenger and rear seats, which is truly superb.
There are very few signs of wear of any kind anywhere at all and zero damage.
Woodgrain panels, entire carpet, vinyl trim, headliner, door panels, chrome accents, dash, steering wheel, all in beautiful condition.
The bezel surrounding the cruise control buttons does have a bit of the typical degradation at one edge.
I can provide the materials to restore the entire horn pad woodgrain sections if desired, may negotiate doing it for you if you prefer.
The entire trunk compartment is also exceptional, literally looks like it has never been used.
Also available are a show condition 1977 Mark V with 18K miles and a 1979 Collector's Series Town Car.
