This auction is for a really nice and very well made antique Thai Ban Chiang pottery pedestal bowl or compote that dates to around 300BC. The old piece of pottery was repaired at some point but it still has gorgeous coloring and is in very fine condition. Back in 1970 the previous owner and her father were allowed access to his warehouse of antiquities and bring a handful of items home to the United States. I have 2 other items from this warehouse listed right now as well. This piece was technically smuggled out of the country with airmail. Just an amazing piece and guaranteed authentic. It has some kind of waxy material on the inside that has been in there since they received it in the 1970s. Measures about 9.75" tall.
