Description

From a local estate and up for sale is this beautiful vintage paperwork relating the appointment of a soldier to the station of Sergeant in the Fifth Regiment of Infantry, at Atlanta, Georgia on the 23rd day of September 1899.   It is headed THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE FIFTH REGIMENT OF INFANTRY, G A.       GEORGIA VOLUNTEERS.    The document measures 11 inches x 17 inches and is printed with handwritten in ink particulars and signatures. The paper itself is quite thin, and there are some folds, no tears.. and some staining and age related color changes in the paper.  The color of the paper to the naked eye is a light cream..               Please check out my photos carefully and email me if you have any questions.    Thanks.
