smooth
and packed with a tons of sweetness. Our organic Costa Rican coffee is sure to be an easy-drinking crowd pleaser and great for most brew methods.
“A spectacular organic coffee from Hacienda la Amistad that shines not only in the cup, but in its commitment to the environment and community.”
Recommended Roast:
City to City+ Roast.
A range of roasts (
Medium
to Dark Roast) work well on this coffee, and each reveal a slightly different roast taste that pairs well with the fruit. Medium roasts develop more fruit notes in the cup while the dark roast will extract an outstanding bright coffee with a dark chocolate, velvety body. As the cup cools, there is a refined caramel sweetens and a hint of fresh grape in the finish.
“This cup is mild overall and infinitely charming.”
FARM PROFILE
Our organic certified coffee is farmed on the famed Hacienda La Amistad renowned for the utmost quality control in planting, harvesting, and processing their coffee. Located in Coto Brus, a canton in the province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica, Hacienda la Amistad is in an unusual region for growing coffee. While much of the Costa Rica’s production comes from Tarrazú and the Central and West Valleys, Coto Brus is in a more remote region in the far southwest. The farm rests on the edge of a colossal forest preserve, bearing the same name as the farm, that crosses over into the country of Panama.
La Amistad’s proximity to the border of Panama attracts many of the local indigenous people who come to the farm during harvest season with their entire families. This sustainable estate provides housing and free access to medical care to all its workers The family also takes pride in their ability to provide more than 100 full-time jobs to their neighbors from Las Mellizas, not only in coffee cultivation, but also in the dried fruit operation that he runs year-round at La Amistad. This Estate's commitment to responsible farming pairs harmoniously with its commitment to community.
