G.A.R. - Grand Army of the Republic – GAR Department of Colorado/Wyoming Badge.
Offered is a wonderful badge worn by Union veterans who were members of the Department of Colorado and Wyoming, Grand Army of the Republic. The hanger is a shield. On the shield are mining implements. Written around the pick ax, shovel, hammer, and bucket is “COLORADO –G.A.R.”. Attached to the hanger is a drop in the shape of a bull head. Written on the bottom of the drop is “WYOMING”. At the time the state of Colorado was known for their mining and the state of Wyoming was known for it's cattle business. The states of Colorado and Wyoming were combined to create a Department of the Grand Army of the Republic. Each department had to have a minimum number of veterans to support it. The badge is approximately 2 ½ inches by 1 ½ inches. Payment required within three (3) days.
