GAR Grand Army Of The Republic Lodge Meeting Hall Post Civil War SIGN. Came from a local estate of a collector that recently passed away. Unfortunately I’m unsure of where the sign was originally located. The man lived in Reading PA so if I had to guess I’d say it was from that area. I’d say it’s from the 30’s or so. Maybe earlier or maybe later but not to many veterans were left into the 1940’s. It has a fluorescent light inside that’s very old. The cord was cut when I got it and I didn’t attempt to retire it as I’m sure it needs gone over and the defuser and wiring replaced. The front is plexiglass I believe. The housing is aluminum. When I got it it was missing the bottom piece if aluminum angle iron so I replaced it and painted it black to match. Measures 50 1/2” long. 12” wide and 5 1/2” deep. There is 3 of the 4 metal plates on the back. The one is missing along with a hole in the Masonite wood on the back. The hole likely came when they removed the sign. Overall shows paint and surface wear. Some wear the the face but no cracks. Great piece of civil war veterans history. Comes as seen in the photos. PLEASE BE AWARE THIS WILL NEED ELECTRICAL REPAIR PRIOR TO BEING USED. Comes as seen in the photos. Local pickup or Free Shipping to the lower 48 states only.C3
