Newark Edward Jardine was awarded the Brevet Brigadier rank during the Civil War. Lt. Colonel of the 17th New York Infantry. Wounded during the New York City draft riots. Held many GAR positions in New York and New Jersey later in life. Died in 1893 in NYC Buried in Brooklyn.
