    1866-1916 GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Kansas City  50th Golden Jubilee National Encampment Medal  Offered is an excellent example of this rare GAR Medal. The medal is stunning, Gold Gilt and enameled. It is 6 inches long not counting the lower ribbon overhang. The Golden Jubilee Medal is gold gilt and enameled with An Enameled Heart of America insignia. It was made by the Bastian Bros, Rochester, Ny for the 50th National Encampment at Kansas City.  Medal Condition This medal is an excellent specimen.  The Yellow ribbon is gently soiled.  Please look at the individual enlarged sectional photos. NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT, GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC, Kansas City 1866-1916. Only history knows of it's past.
    The Commander in Chief of the GAR is Elias R. Monfort who is shown on the Medal at the bottom. The GAR is red white and blue enamel. this is 4 individual sections on a Gold Ribbon.
