    Green Coffee Beans from Brazil.  The coffee growing elevations in Brazil average about 850 – 1600 meters above sea level and the growing areas are huge, providing large quantities of coffee.    Coffee from the Brazil is recognized worldwide for its distinctive flavor and high quality.   Brazilian coffee is generally very aromatic, clean, with a good body and delicate acidity.   It is well-balanced, and often exhibits a nutty or slightly sweet flavor with lighter roasts, and more chocolaty flavor if given a darker roast.
    This coffee has been decaffeinated using the MC Process.  This is a blend of premium Arabica beans from some of the best farms in Brazil.  These are Grade 2/3 FC 14/16 screen beans. Only the best beans are selected to go through the costly decaffeination process.  These beans have been hand screened to remove defects prior to being sent for further processing.  The Methylene Chloride (MC) process is thought by some in the coffee industry to maintain coffee flavor better than other processes.   During the decaffeination process, the coffee beans are soaked in hot water to extract much of the caffeine from the beans. The beans are then removed from the water and the methylene chloride solvent is added to bond with the caffeine. Then the methylene chloride/caffeine compound is removed from the water, and the beans are returned to reabsorb the caffeine free liquid.
    This coffee exhibits a bright slightly sweet taste, low acid, with a smooth finish.

    Note – Decaffeinated green beans tend to be more of a brown color versus the greener color of non-decaffeinated beans due to the decaffeination process and in general will look darker than a non-decaffeinated bean roasted using the same profile.
