Large Antique Bronze Buddha Laos 16th / 17th Bhumisparsha Mudra Buddhist Sculpture
Shakyamuni Buddha shown seated in Bhumisparsha Mudra known as the earth touching position. This gesture represents the moment of The Buddha's awakening as he claims the earth as the witness of his enlightenment.
One of two similar Buddhas that I bought recenly from a private Dutch collection, one of which is now sold.
