    Description

Rare Hand Made Antique Adze, with a Bamboo Handle, Reinforced and Wrapped with Native Fiber, with the Hand- Forged Iron Adze-Head Attached with Boiled Hide Leather.
    Circa; 19th Century
Condition; Very Good: The item shows use and age.
    16 inches (40.8 cm) high x 7 ¼ inches (18.4 cm) deep x 2 ¾ inches (7 cm) wide at the blade
Description: This item was from the collection of the noted adventurer, collector, and democracy advocate Christian Armstrong (1962 – 2014) of Northern California. He was known to collect via trips to Burma, Thailand, and Cambodia. Southeast Asia is therefore deduced to be the most likely source of this excellent antique tool, although I haven’t located any similar examples, and the item could be from another locale.
